Hi there, it's Faith! π I'm the Programmatic Marketing Specialist at Lamar and the producer behind the Digital & Dirt Podcast. Earlier this month, I was given the opportunity to travel to Austin, TX for the MediaPost DOOH Insider Summit and New York for the DPAA Global Insider Summit to produce the podcast live at these events.Β
So, there I was, about to board a plane, a mix of excitement, nerves, and curiosity all bundled up inside me. It was my first-ever work trip, and I had no idea what to expect, but I was eager to dive into the experience.
Turns out, this journey was a golden opportunity for networking, learning from industry experts, and embracing every moment. First stop, Austin!
In Austin, I'd start my mornings with a simple breakfast and coffee, listening to top brands like Kia, Andie Swim, and the NBA. I was learning about industry challenges, like measuring success and maximizing OOH budgets.

After those morning sessions, my time was all about mingling with industry leaders. I gained valuable insights and had some amazing conversations. The cool part? It didn't feel like your typical office work. We were chatting on a cruise down Lake Austin or enjoying the Austin City Limits festival β work had never felt like this much fun! One evening, we even caught a pop-up event where some of our previous podcast guests, THEBROSFRESH, were performing. And at night, we explored Austin's best restaurants, with Terry Blacks BBQ topping my list.

After a brief 24-hour pit stop at home, I headed to New York for the DPAA conference. It was a whole different ballgame, surrounded by a large crowd of industry folks. I reconnected with some familiar faces from Austin and got to hear from some fantastic speakers who also joined our podcast.Β

In the end, Austin and New York left me with a boost of confidence. Stepping out of my comfort zone was totally worth it, and I'm excited to apply the knowledge I gained to my work. My main takeaway was understanding that our industry is all about connections. Building relationships is the key to success, and I'm grateful for all the wonderful people I met. Looking forward to nurturing those connections even more and applying this valuable knowledge to my career journey. ππΌπ¬
